The Rajiv Ruparelia Rally Team arrived in Kenya’s town of Naivasha on Wednesday in preparation for the second round of the 2021 FIA African Rally Championship (Equator Rally ) that gets underway in Naivasha, Kenya at the weekend, April 24-27.
The team is part of eight Ugandan crews that will join their counterparts from Kenya and other parts of Africa to partake in the race. About 35 crews had registered to compete.
The crews underwent scrutineering on Thursday and the engines are ready to roar Saturday and Sunday. Eleven stages will be covered; with a total competitive distance of 206.72kms.
On Friday, ARC crews will take on a qualifying stage of 5.40km that will determine their starting position on Saturday.
According to Kawowo Sport, over thirty crews have been cleared to start the Naivasha Africa Rally Championship round, however, only 19 crews will be legible for the ARC points.
